Youth Congress chalks out potholes on Wardha Road
Nagpur: Youth Congress workers organised a protest march from Chinchbhavan bus stop to Khapri flyover to highlight the deplorable condition of the flyover, which is riddled with potholes, on busy Wardha Road on Thursday.
Amar Mendhe, general secretary of South West Youth Congress, said, “We protested with musical instruments such as kajri and dhol in our hands.” They shouted slogans against DyCM Devendra Fadnavis, who is South West Nagpur MLA.

Amar said he has taken up this issue with the National Highway PWD division officials, but they categorically said that this patch of road and flyover is under the railways.
Pranit Mohad, vice president of SW Youth Congress, alleged that on Thursday morning too there had been an accident at the spot. He alleged that the convoy of a politician was driven down the extreme edge of the road to avoid potholes. The protesters threatened to stage a sit-in protest.
National Highway PWD division official Prakash Thakre, who arrived at the protest spot, said NV Borkar, executive engineer of the NH PWD division has sent a letter to dy chief engineer (const) Central Railway, Nagpur, informing that the approval for the work done has been given by RO, MORTH, Mumbai office. The RCC box work was completed by their office, and the stretch is now open.
However, the road portion above the RCC box has settled, and numerous potholes have formed. The letter requested immediate action to repair and resurface the road.
